Taiwo Sesay is currently pursuing a PhD in the School of Engineering and Technology at UNSW Canberra. Prior to his candidature at UNSW Canberra, Taiwo completed his Bachelor of Engineering with Honours in Civil Engineering, graduating with First Class Honors in 2019 from the University of Sierra Leone, and obtained his Master of Engineering in 2022 from Chang’an University. 

Taiwo Sesay’s research interests include sustainable geotechnical engineering, soil characterization and enhancement, pavement engineering, and environmental engineering, having made noteworthy contributions in these areas by publishing 12 research articles in respected peer-reviewed journals since 2020. At present, Taiwo’s PhD research focuses on using bio-based treatments on local and engineered soils for sustainable rammed earth construction. His work is in collaboration with the Australian Research Council Training Centre for Whole Life Design of Carbon Neutral Infrastructure (Dfco2), aiming to enhance growth, productivity, and competitiveness in the infrastructure industry.
