Dr Rajeev Roychand

Dr. Rajeev Roychand is a distinguished Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Department of Civil Engineering at RMIT University’s School of Engineering, whose groundbreaking work in sustainable construction materials has earned him international recognition, including ranking among the top 2% of scientists globally in 2024.

With expertise spanning advanced material characterization, structural design, and data science, Dr. Roychand bridges research excellence with practical engineering solutions through his extensive research portfolio of 60 publications and over 3,300 citations. He currently supervises seven PhD candidates while maintaining an active teaching portfolio in sustainable infrastructure design, material forensics, and concrete structures. His significant contributions to advancing the construction industry toward sustainability are recognised through five prestigious awards, including the national Shaping Australia Award.
