Dr Shuangmin Shi

The University of Melbourne

Dr Shi completed his Doctor of Philosophy degree at the University of Melbourne in the field of structural and construction engineering. He also holds a Master of Engineering with Distinction and a Bachelor of Science from the same institution, with majors in structural and civil systems, respectively. His research expertise spans impact mechanics, structural dynamics, engineering reliability, and ageing infrastructure, including material corrosion.

Shuangmin has extensive experience in industrial collaboration, having contributed to an Australian Research Council (ARC) Linkage Project during his PhD. He was recently awarded a Cooperative Research Centres Projects (CRC-P) Round 16 Grant, securing $2.33 million in funding.

Shuangmin is also an experienced educator with over five years of university teaching experience. He holds the Melbourne Teaching Certificate and is passionate about incorporating advanced digital technologies into engineering education.
