Dr Jingxuan Zhang is a civil engineer and researcher at RMIT University, specialising in carbon-focused life cycle assessment (LCA) and decision-ready tools for circular construction systems. Her work develops carbon saving trajectory analysis to evaluate how circular pathways perform over time under uncertainty and real-world variability, helping decision makers move beyond single-point footprints toward robust implementation choices. Her research spans sustainability assessment of circular economy in waste-to-construction pathways, including kerbside glass reuse in asphalt and glass container production, and low-carbon cementitious materials such as geopolymer systems and industrial by-products (fly ash and rice husk ash). She also investigates biogenic carbon strategies for construction decarbonisation, including spent coffee grounds biochar concrete, and quantifies carbon uptake through concrete recarbonation to support net carbon performance assessment. Across these domains, she integrates environmental, cost, and social perspectives through life cycle sustainability assessment to generate practical insights for policy and industry translation.
